THE BREAKING CHAINS DIALOGUE pt 1
When talk about Serving the Community and actually giving back,
I really feel the heart in the Breaking Chains and Building bonds grant that we received.
I'm from the N.E.A- north east aurora.
I went to Crawford Elementary with fellow Aurorians that knew the turf
But that's neither here nor there because the streets will take you down period and north east aurora is a example of it.
To have the ability to come in from the other side and be the success story we are all striving for, to be the example of everything it took, every sacrifice and every learning experience to become the best person we can be for our self, community and world.
I painted this picture for myself but I know it's the same for most of us who can relate to how much time we gave to the streets of aurora in pursuits of things other then the success and progress and harmony of our community and families.
I first went to Prison in 1998, that shit sounds ridiculous, the urge to be an Aurora representor was overwhelming. I thought I was growing up among the best Aurora had to offer when it came to everything you could do we could do better and I refrain from talking about anybody but myself because I found comfort in confrontation, Liquor and the access the streets provided to take care of ourselves whether legal or illegal.
I tell you that it took a long time for me to be convinced that the streets didn’t love me as much as I love them.
